Novelist George R.R. Martin praised Elden Ring
In a post on his personal website, author George R. R. Martin described Elden Ring as both fascinating and awe-inspiring.
Developer FromSoftware worked with Martin to build the lore of Elden Ring and created a fantasy world called The Lands Between.
While new details about the open world setting are appearing more and more frequently, there’s still a lot of conundrum about what to expect in the vast locale.
FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Elden Ring more than two years ago during E3 2019.
Long after that, new information surfaced on the track. But thankfully the action-RPG returned to the spotlight last summer, along with the game’s official trailer.
A select number of players managed to overcome the title in a Closed Network Test held in November.
But the full experience is only a few months after launch.
For this reason, George R. R. Martin decided to celebrate the inevitable occasion with a holiday post on the “Not a Blog” blog.
George R.R. Martin’s ‘Not a Blog’ blog post
World-renowned author George R. R. Martin added a new post to his “Not a Blog” this weekend, VGC found.
The short article entitled “Long Long Ago…,” provides a brief history of Martin’s work with Hidetake Miyazaki and the FromSoftware crew.
As noted above, the team wanted Martin to help build the world in the Elden Ring, which he did by preparing a prequel to a “a deep, dark, resonant world”.
The author admits that he hasn’t played a video game since the early days of Railroad Tycoon and Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Nonetheless, he can’t help but notice that Elden Ring “looks incredible”.
It is noteworthy that the publication ended with Martin, who described his “current mood” in one word – “enthralled”.
George R. R. Martin’s fascination with the world he created with FromSoftware is sure to please many future Elden Ring players.
He was also right, the open-world RPG looks absolutely awesome, from the stunning environments and creatures to the challenging gameplay and everything in between.
Gamers interested in Elden Ring’s story will need to be careful online over the next few months
If you’re interested in the history of the Elden Ring, you’ll unfortunately have to be wary of going online for the next few months. Dataminers found a way to gain access to the Closed Network Test that was done earlier. And they were able to uncover files containing plot and content details of the endgame.
It is reported that some of this information has been disseminated online.
Elden Ring will release on February 25, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
