One modder has parodied Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition’s notorious rain effect, recreating it as a traditional DOOM mod for laughs.
Parody for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition
A modder has parodied Rockstar’s newly launched Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, recreating its maligned thick substandard rain effect that plagues all 3 remasters as a conventional DOOM mod.
Modders have stepped in to enhance the remastered collection’s PC model since its preliminary release.
However, problems concerning the GTA trilogy remaster throughout all platforms appear to be developing each day, as fans have taken to social media to mock its numerous bugs, inconsistencies, and absence of polish that deem it unplayable.
Unluckily, its rocky release got bad. Because the GTA trilogy remasters PC version was eventually taken down.
This angered many fans who desired to refund the collection because of the game being absolutely deleted from libraries without consent.
“Fake rain” effect in Definitive Edition
Though the collection came back to the Rockstar Launcher with an update that repaired some problems, a single debatable problem keeps plaguing the Definitive Edition.
A “fake rain” effect which looks as if a display filter is making it tough for gamers to navigate the GTA trilogy remaster because of significant visibility problems which extremely obscure or disappear its environments entirely.
Nevertheless, modders were quick to jump on the problem and created fixes for the Definitive Edition which lighten the effect or make it become more subtle.
Gloomily, at the same time as PC gamers can now revel in the remastered series without the annoying thick rain strands, console gamers have to look ahead to a legit patch from Rockstar Games, which is expected someday soon.
The “Definitive Rain Edition” WAD is downloadable
According to Nash Muhandes’s post on Twitter, the modder and developer shared the new DOOM mod, which openly mocked the annoying rain effect of the Definitive Edition.
The downloadable “Definitive Rain Edition” WAD is exclusively for ZDoom and adds a fuzzy rain filter similar to the GTA trilogy remasters for the classic DOOM.
In the short clip, the player can be seen shooting at the demon before dying quickly. Because the rain filter blurs their vision and the sound is louder than the original game.
The modder seems to add to the fun by stating that all other mods should be thrown away as “you’ll want THIS in your autoload”.
Definitive Edition versions have been review-bombed on Metacritic
Although Rockstar Games announced that it will update and improve the remastered series over time, buyers have been pouring into Rockstar’s support and demanding refunds.
The strange thing is that consumers encountered unresolved delays or refusal to inquire and took different measures.
Each and every version of the Definitive Edition has been review-bombed on Metacritic.
User review scores across multiple platforms are now below 1.0, making it one of the worst games to launch in 2021.
Many modders have stepped in to fix the infamous rainfall effect, but some people are making fun of it with their own creations.
Although considered ridiculous, this effect has caused many players to quit the game completely and should be considered a priority fix for the upcoming game update.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. It will be launched on iOS and Android respectively in the first half of 2022.
