World War Z: Aftermath is a standalone expansion and is the ultimate version of the 4-player co-op shooter based on Paramount Pictures hit zombie franchise. The game was originally launched in 2019 and was upgraded to the Game of the Year Edition last year.

At Gamescom 2021, the Saber Interactive team released a trailer introducing the benefits Pre-Order game players will receive as well as the important innovations of the Aftermath expansion.

Details for Aftermath expansion

  • 2 new locations: Rome and Kamchatka will be the 2 locations added to the Aftermath expansion. In addition to the familiar locations in the original World War Z version that will also fully appear in the game.
  • New Weapons and Gameplay: This expansion will add new melee weapons such as sledgehammers, sickles, machetes, and fire axes. Besides, players can also increase their immersion with the World War Z experience. Then now a first-person perspective will be added to the game for players to freely choose.
  • Detailed character upgrades: World War Z: Aftermath includes a character upgrade mode with 8 skill classes. Especially with the addition of Vanguard equipment class that allows players to “plow” through the Zombie swarm with a power shield full of power!
  • The Ultimate World War Z Experience: The Aftermath expansion will also include all the bonus content added in the Game of the Year edition of World War Z such as character costumes, weapon skins, and more.
  • Play with anyone, on any platform: the expansion will also include full cross-play across. That means, players from console to PC, from Steam to the Epic Game Store will play on same server.
The new generation of cooperative action games: PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 versions will include Horde Mode XL with an unprecedented horde of Zombies. Of course with 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
